Project Overview
In the regulator renovation project of an aging power distribution substation in a Malaysian city, Rockwill implemented a regulator full lifecycle solution for 86 aging power regulators that had been in operation for 10 years across 15 local substations, completing the intelligent and safety upgrade of the equipment. Tailored to the local high-temperature and high-humidity climate and compliance requirements of the power industry, the solution addresses the pain points of aging components, insufficient voltage regulation accuracy and poor adaptability of aging equipment. With a full-process service covering selection, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance, and replacement, it achieves zero production downtime during renovation and zero potential safety hazards, setting a benchmark for the upgrade of local power infrastructure.
Professional Solution · Full-Lifecycle Protection
Tailored to the local climatic characteristics of high temperature, high humidity and frequent heavy rains, as well as the load demands of industrial and residential power consumption, a customized full-lifecycle service was created for this project, focusing on high temperature adaptability, compliance and safety, and high efficiency and convenience to effectively solve the operation and maintenance challenges of local power regulators.
- Selection Phase:Professional engineers conducted on-site surveys to sort out the parameters of the local power system, load range, voltage level, installation environment and compliance requirements of the local power industry. Relying on the industry case database, the model was initially screened and then reviewed by a senior technical team. High-temperature and moisture-proof adaptive models were selected, and a Selection Analysis Report was issued to ensure precise adaptation and compliance, eliminate trial-and-error costs, and meet the core operational requirements of power regulators.
- Installation and Commissioning Phase:A professional team with local power construction qualifications carried out the full-process operation in accordance with power equipment installation specifications, with enhanced moisture and lightning protection, and key nodes documented for traceability. During commissioning, actual power load fluctuations were simulated to calibrate core indicators including voltage stability accuracy (fluctuation ≤±0.5%) and response time (≤1s). Simultaneously, operator training was provided with multilingual manuals to ensure the equipment meets standards upon commissioning and guarantee stable power supply.
- Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Phase:Combined with the distribution of local power infrastructure, a quarterly inspection plan was formulated, focusing on 12 key inspections including regulator winding temperature measurement, valve orifice wear and insulation performance, with multilingual O&M reports issued. Leveraging more than 30 service outlets in Southeast Asia, 24/7 multilingual emergency maintenance is provided, with a 2-hour response time and on-site arrival within 48 hours, and the inventory rate of commonly used spare parts is ≥90% to ensure continuous power supply. Original factory spare parts are adopted, the replacement cycle is recorded and the O&M plan is optimized to extend the service life of the equipment.
- Replacement Phase:Free evaluation and compliant recycling services for old equipment are provided, with the value of old equipment deductible from the purchase cost of new equipment. New equipment is pre-commissioned at Rockwill's local factory in Southeast Asia before being transported to the site, and switched in parallel with the old equipment to ensure stable voltage and uninterrupted power supply. O&M data is migrated synchronously to reduce switching costs and minimize the impact on industrial and residential power consumption.
Empowering the Upgrading of Urban Power Safety
To date, the project has completed the renovation of 38 regulators across 6 substations. The voltage regulation accuracy, high-temperature adaptability and safety performance of the equipment have been significantly improved, completely solving the problems of voltage anomalies and frequent failures of aging equipment, meeting the compliance requirements of the local power industry, and ensuring the safe and stable power supply for industrial and residential use.
This solution has been promoted to Singapore, Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, effectively addressing the local pain points of difficult selection and cumbersome O&M of aging power regulators. Relying on localized adaptation capabilities, Rockwill continues to optimize its full lifecycle solution and aligns it with the core O&M needs of power equipment, empowering the safety and digital upgrading of local power infrastructure and building a solid defense for power supply.
